10 Humanities excursion

The Ration Shed at Cherbourg

On Wednesday 17th May the Yr10 students visited the Ration Shed in Cherbourg.

During their  visit students had the opportunity to create some Indigenous art by painting a boomerang and drawing Indigenous symbols on Scratch Art paper.

Students also watched a DVD called "Early Days" which outlined the history of Cherbourg.  Students watched the DVD in the actual Ration Shed where families would line up to receive their weekly rations.  They also learned about the rich sporting history of athletes who grew up in Cherbourg and explored the Boys Dormitory.

The excursion gave students the opportunity to experience and learn about Indigenous culture and gain valuable insight to help with their assessment this term.
