On 10th of February we had our annual swimming carnival. It was a fun and exciting day filled to the brim with not only competitive events but novelty races that left the crowd teeming with laughter. Students swam relays passing pool noodles and an oversized version of our school jersey, all in the honourable pursuit of collecting house points. Unfortunately, due to time constraints—at least that’s what they say—we were not lucky enough to observe a teacher’s version of these races.
Overall Fraser were the champions of this year's swimming carnival. That’s not to say that Rafter didn’t put up a fair fight. Congratulations to our Principal’s Cup winners! These two students were the fastest male and female winners of our school on the day. It was an incredibly close race both for our male and female competitors.
Although it is bittersweet that this carnival was the last for our grade 12s it was certainly an exciting affair for the new grade 7s. Special thanks to Mr. McMahon and staff for organising this event, to the tuckshop staff and the pool staff for providing food and drinks, and to school leaders and students for rousing an infectious team spirit. Best of luck to Rafter House, see you all next year at the next swimming carnival!
